Do it yourself.
When the country was shut down along with the rest of the world in the spring of 2020, we deciced to help people keep their hands busy by making their own cups! We supplied a kit of clay, sponge and a transport box, and together with our detailed online instructions this led to some fabulous creations which were glazed and fired in the microfactory.
The kit we made contained three lumps of clay (for practicing, for making the cup and for the handle), a sponge and a transport box. Other tools are normal kitchen utensils.
Our detailed online instructions must have been understandable, as the results turned out fabulous! Complete instructions here (in Norwegian).
Attaching the handle can be quite a challenge, and we honestly expected to see most cups come back without handles. We were wrong!
All cups marked with individual numbers to keep track of things.
Glaze firing in our newest kiln - which we have named Standard. Yes, the other one is called Odd!
